The wonderful Sarah Maycock was commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy London to create three watercolour portraits of people relaxing in the bath. The paintings were then printed onto ceramic bowls and shot for the final campaign creative.

We recently had the pleasure of working on an exciting project for Heinz, collaborating with the talented illustrator Sarah Maycock and Wieden+Kennedy London. This project showcased a blend of illustration and photography, bringing a fresh visual approach to Heinz's iconic soup.
The brief: To paint a set of characters as though they were having a luxurious bath in a bowl of Heinz soup! Sarah's process involved creating original illustrations for three soup flavours: Cream of Tomato, Cream of Chicken, and Cream of Mushroom. These illustrations were designed to sit above the soup level on photographic images of each soup bowl, becoming an integral component of the overall concept.

The project involved rounds of creative development and feedback. Sarah meticulously crafted initial sketches, which were then reviewed by the agency and client teams. This iterative process allowed for fine-tuning and ensured the illustrations perfectly captured the desired aesthetic. The illustrations were then printed onto ceramic bowls and photographed.

The illustrations were not only for print but also for social media, with subtle motion clips planned for digital billboards and social media. For this Sarah had to provide layered Photoshop files, allowing the animators to create the detailed movements and changes to facial expressions.
