The wonderful Sarah Maycock was commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy London to create three watercolour portraits of people relaxing in the bath. The paintings were then printed onto ceramic bowls and shot for the final campaign creative.

We recently had the pleasure of working on a wonderful new campaign for Heinz, collaborating with the talented illustrator Sarah Maycock and advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy London. The project cleverly blends illustration and photography, to create eye-catching and charming visuals for the iconic Heinz soup.
The brief: To paint a set of characters who look like they're having a warm luxurious bath in a bowl of soup! Sarah's process involved creating three original illustrations for the three flavours: Cream of Tomato, Cream of Chicken, and Cream of Mushroom. The illustrations were designed to sit above the soup level on the inside of the bowls, which were then filled and photographed for the final visual assets.

The project involved numerous rounds of creative development and feedback. Sarah's meticulously crafted initial sketches, were reviewed by both the agency and client teams. This iterative process allowed for fine-tuning and ensured the illustrations perfectly captured the desired aesthetic. Once approved the ceramic bowls were printed.

As well as the outdoor print campaign, the illustrations were also used for social media, with subtlely animated clips required for both digital billboards and social. For this Sarah had to provide layered Photoshop files, allowing the skilled animation team to create the required movements and changes to the facial expressions.
