Ideas sit at the centre of everything Matt Blease creates. His work homes in on life’s small absurdities and everyday moments - the funny, the human, the quietly brilliant stuff that makes it all worthwhile. If you’re after sharp observational humour with a healthy dose of emotional intelligence, you’ve come to the right place.
Born in Liverpool, skills honed in Edinburgh, and London-based since 2004, Matt found his feet designing for Nike, the BBC and PlayStation before going on to lead the Graphic Design team at Liberty London. Freelance followed - and the rest is a very busy sketchbook.
Matt is best known for his playful, idea-led drawings and bold, confident line work, all underpinned by a strong graphic design sensibility. His client list reads like a creative dream journal: Google, The New Yorker, Rapha, TfL, Vogue, Coca-Cola, Penguin Books, The Guardian, Apple, Patagonia and plenty more. They all come knocking for his style - and stay for his brain.
