Cob was the brainchild of Jess Davidoff, a serial entrepreneur and mom of kids with corn allergies. Searching for a pop-corn alternative, Jess became aware of the nutritional powerhouse sorghum, a naturally gluten-free, nutrient-rich and climate-smart serial grain. From here Cob was born and work on the brand began.

Handsome Frank’s Molly McCammon was approached by Second Nature Studio. The initial ask was to create a limited-edition holiday tin. Cob were looking for one custom illustration that brought together “cozy holiday vibes, retro tennis, and popcorn”. Suggested visual motifs included snow scenes, tennis elements, popcorn references, and retro holiday details. Molly set to work and began drawing popcorn garlands, and vintage rackets topping trees.

So what’s this got to do with tennis? Well it just so happens that tennis legend Novak Djokovic, known for his gluten-free diet, was also a fan of the mighty little grain. So when he got word of Jess’s work, he wanted to help bring Cob to life. As such, Molly was asked to bring the Serbian superstar to life in her, with his very own illustration in her style. The illustrated Novak is now appearing on special edition packaging and has become an ever present snack in the Djokovic pantry.

Molly has since gone on to create an array of imagery for the Cob brand and is looking forward to collaborating with them into 2026. In the meantime, we’re hungrily awaiting or tins of Cob at HFHQ.
