The iconic KFC line gets a stylish new look crafted by Tobias Hall.

It's not everyday that you get the chance to work on one of advertising's most iconic lines. First coined in the 1950's and born entirely by accident, the line was actually conceived when a viewer complained that a franchisee was licking his fingers in the background of an early TV ad. In response, restaurant manager Ken Harbough spontaneously defended the shot, replying, "Well, it's finger lickin' good" ... and the rest is history.

Fast forward 70 years, and after a brief pandemic pause - when marketing executives felt encouraging people to lick their fingers sent the wrong safety message - the line is back and JKR London asked Tobias Hall to work his magic and modernise it for the present day.

Tobias got to work and after some initial trial and error, landed upon some bespoke type that perfectly modernised the iconic copy.

Rolling our globally from June 2026, KFC lovers will be seeing Tobias' handiwork in-store, across packaging, windows and even on the staff t-shirts (we really want to snag a few of those).

Thanks to the brilliant team at JKR London for bringing us in on this project. We're off to order.a bargain bucket to celebrate.
