As part of their annual Recollection Series, Tom was asked to revive the character and beauty of three now closed distilleries at Port Ellen, Glen Mhor and Banff. The evocative illustrations were also brought to life in three gently animated adverts.
The three distilleries that feature in the series: Port Ellen β due to reopen later this year, Banff in Aberdeenshire, and Glen Mhor which operated next to the Caledonian canal in Inverness.
The brief from Gordon & MacPhail was to echo the theme of last yearβs inaugural series portraying the whiskies as βforgotten masterpiecesβ or βlost works of artβ. The artworks aim to revive the character of these distilleries and highlight that through the whiskies, their spirit endures.
